Position Overview:

Webhorse Technologies is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Technician who thrives in unique and challenging environments. This role is based in Inuvik, Canadian Western Arctic, and involves working across several IT disciplines.

In addition to IT support, the successful candidate will be encouraged to work on internal projects and propose new projects that implement emerging technologies and help develop new lines of business. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys unconventional and challenging work environments.

  • Communication & Documentation: Excellent spoken and written English skills. Ability to write thorough documentation, present to small groups, and teach basic computer skills and online safety.
  • Client Interaction: Follow up with clients, draft quotes, and deliver exceptional customer service with a personable approach.

    • Networking
    • IT Modernization

    • Cybersecurity Baseline Control Implementation and Assessment
    • Security Camera and Physical Hardware Installation
    • Automation
    • Backup and Disaster Recovery

Software & System Knowledge:

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows, with working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot OSX and Linux.
  • Software & Tools: Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn:
    • Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools like NinjaOne
    • Network management systems like Omada
    • Firewall management software like SonicWall NSM
    • Endpoint security solutions like SentinelOne
    • Microsoft 365 Administration
    • Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools like Autotask
  • Emerging Technologies: Interest and experience in novel technologies like drones, artificial intelligence, mesh networks, IoT, sensor technology, and data acquisition.

Certifications:

  • Networking certification (required)
  • Cybersecurity certification
  • MS Admin certifications

Certifications through our partners will be available, with course fees and exams paid for by the company. Successful certification will result in a wage increase.
